Mission Statement

Cayuga County is recognized as a Cleaner Greener community by NYSERDA. CCPUSA is working to reduce greenhouse gases and increase renewable sources while controlling the cost of energy generation and transition to a low carbon clean energy economy for the future.

Facts about CCPUSA

The residents of Cayuga County overwhelmingly supported the creation of CCPUSA via public referendum in 2005.
The mission of CCPUSA is to create opportunities for residents and business of Cayuga County to access clean, affordable, renewable power.
CCPUSA has the authority to act as a Municipal Utility. It can buy power from the open market and sell it at a reduced rate to the enduser.
The CCPUSA is governed by a volunteer board whose members are appointed by the Chair of the Cayuga County Legislature.
